ODBC connection for Security Server on 64-bit OS

Modified on Sun, 14 Sep at 2:27 PM

On Windows 64-bit operating systems, when you launch the ODBC Data Source Administrator to create a ODBC connection to your database, you create a 64-bit version of the connection that is not compatible with the Netop Security Server. The Security Server is a 32-bit application that requires that the ODBC connection be created using the 32-bit version of the ODBC Data Source Administrator. You may recognize this issue because although an ODBC connection has been created in Windows the ODBC connection is not visible in the Security Server or Security Manager interface when you try to log on to the the database.

To create a 32-bit ODBC connection to the database you must launch the ODBC Data Source Administrator from the following location on your 64-bit OS.

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
