In order to use SSL with a valid certificate when accessing the Host with a web browser (known as the Browser Based Support Console) the Hosts Web communication profile must be configured with a certificate that meets the following requirements.

  • The certificate must be imported in "Local Computer\Personal" in the Windows Certificate Store.
  • The certificate must be a legacy certificate. Please note that Cryptography API: Next Generation (CNG) certificates are not supported.
  • The certificate should have a private key.
  • The certificate should comply with the regulations stated into the RFC 5246 – The Transport Layer Security (TLS) Protocol Version 1.2, section 7.4.2. Server Certificate.
